Managing Director of Commercial Payments
Job Summary
Oversee the buildout, growth, and management of a practice focusing on commercial payments and treasury management services.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for developing business and managing relationships within key sectors including financial institutions, data processors, technology companies, payment networks, and large corporate organizations
- Provide strategic oversight of client engagements to project teams focused on corporate strategy, market assessments / research, product development / new product launches, program optimization, product / performance benchmarking, operational evaluations, partnership assessments, and financial evaluations
- Act as primary liaison on engagements to client executive leadership
- Build brand awareness through creation of thought leadership pieces, public speaking opportunities, and other initiatives
- Hire, train, and develop team of analysts and consultants to support client engagements
Skills and Competencies
- Deep expertise in B2B payments and treasury management services including commercial cards (T&E, Corporate, One-Card), payables automation, invoice capture solutions, supply chain finance, & B2C payouts/disbursements
- Experienced, connected, and educated in the complexities of the commercial payments industry with a significant existing network of potential clients
- Executive presence and ability to interact with and influence the most senior people within client organizations and across the industry
- Excellent ability to concisely articulate problems and solutions in an easy-to-understand manner
- A leader with proven track record of successful sales management, coaching, contract negotiation and excellent closing skills in B2B solution sales
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- At least 10 years experience in commercial payments / treasury management services
- Consulting experience preferred
